Ghost Trackers use a number of high
tech and scientific tools to help them gather evidence. Here
are some of our favourites:
EMF Detectors
EMF stands for “Electro Magnetic Field.” This simple device
is one of the most important Ghost Tracking tools. It measures changes
in electrical activity. The higher the reading, the greater the electrical
activity. Many researchers have noticed high energy readings often happen
during paranormal activity. Ghost Trackers use the EMF when they sense
something strange is going on or feel a ghostly presence.
Infrared Thermometer
Simple to use, these thermometers as an essential part of the Ghost Trackers
equipment. They can pinpoint changes in temperature instantly. There
are great for finding or confirming the presence of cold spots, those unusual
icy areas often found in haunted houses.
Parabolic Microphone
A powerful, directional microphone that allows Trackers to focus on particular
sounds. This special tool picks up sounds that the human ear might
miss.
Compass
Small, simple and inexpensive . . . your compass is a great Ghost Tracking tool. You
can use it to get a quick and easy read on unusual electrical activity. If
the arrow points anywhere but north, you know something strange is going on. It’s
also a practical aid if you get lost in a big house or other large area.
Tape Recorder/Digital Recorder
Another simple tool. A small hand held one works best. Allows you
to record your thoughts and feelings during an investigation . . . and also lets
check for EVP – electronic voice phenomenon – one of the most compelling
kinds of eveidence you can collect.
Still Camera
An indispensable tool. A great way to prepare for an investigation: take
photos of the site during the day, so you can become familiar with it before
hand. Also, great during an investigation. Ghost Trackers often take
lots of photos, and examine them afterwards for orbs, strange shadows and ghostly
faces.
Video Camera
Like a still camera, a video camera is an excellent t way to help prepare for
an investigation and carry one out. We regularly take the footage we shoot
during an investigation to the Ghost Tracker lab to search for paranormal activity
we might have missed during an investigation.
Geiger Counter
A more expensive piece of equipment that was originally designed to measures
radiation levels. Like the EMF detector, a Geiger counter can identify
unusual the kind of unusual energy fields often associated with a haunting.
Motion Detector:
Another inexpensive, readily available tool. A simple motion detector can alert
Trackers to suspicious movement in one room while they are investigation another. |
